Form Makina and Gazi University organized “3. Additive Manufacturing Technologies Workshop " which was held on April 15 at Gazi University Rectorate Building. Form Group Chairman Muhterem Sanko, who made the opening speech of the workshop, stated that 3D printers started to be used in all areas of the industry. He underlined the importance given to this technology from Form Group.

Rector of Gazi University Dr. İbrahim Uslan said, “The target is university and industry cooperation. He stated that the parts that could not be produced before, can be produced more effectively and with a high quality due to the developing new techniques. Rector Dr. İbrahim Uslan said: “We would like to empower ourselves in this production technique through cooperation with Form Makina, the main sponsor of the workshop, and to uncover this cooperation between universities and industry. ”

SSB Vice President Celal Sami Tüfekçi shared detailed information about road map in additive manufacturing.  Osmangazi University Lecturer DR.Evren YASA made an effective presentation on "Metal Additive Manufacturing: Opportunities, Challenges and Future Directions".

Professor from Koç University. Dr. İsmail LAZOĞLU made a presentation by sharing the updates on "Additive Manufacturing Research at Koç University Production and Automation Research Center". Prof.Dr. Bahatttin Koc's presentation on "Additive Manufacturing Studies at the Sabancı University Integrated Production Center (TÜMER)" was also followed with interest.

Dr. Evren Tan from Aselsan shared his presentation about Metal Additive Manufacturing Technologies from Defense Industry Perspective. Dr. Hakan Yavas from TUSAS made a presentation on TUSAŞ's vision about additive manufacturing technologies in the aviation industry.

The closing speech was made by Sadık Sinan Kosumcu, Additive Manufacturing Products Manager of the main sponsor Form Makina. He stated that Form Makina aims to play an active role in additive manufacturing technology and they want to create the necessary platform for the cooperation between industry and universities. KOSUMCU specified this event as the largest and most widely attended one in additive manufacturing field until now and he said that they want to schedule new events for the cooperation of industry and universities under additive manufacturing.
